Albany Academy Wing Having Terrific Season

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on sophomore Tyler Foster of Albany Academy ...

Albany City Rocks program director Jim Hart feels the young talent in his area is among the best in the country. He might be right.

Hart recently spoke to us about another young player who could be a significant part of his Albany City Rocks basketball program. Hart spoke to us about Tyler Foster.

Foster is a 6-foot-4, 185-pound sophomore wing player from The Albany Academy in Albany, New York. "He is the leading scorer for Albany Academy," Hart said. "He leads the team in scoring and also in hitting three-pointers."

A prospect in the 2009 class, Foster has some time to progress both physically and mentally. This excites Hart. "For a big guy at his age he really handles the ball well," Hart stated. "He is a slashing type of player who also had a mid-range game too."

Foster is a player that Hart feels will garner plenty of division one interest. "He has a ton of versatility," he said. "This is very attractive for division one programs."

Hart had a favorable comparision too on Foster. "He reminds me of (NBA player) Mike Miller," he said.

Good enough. Now it's up to Foster to continue to develop his game both with The Albany Academy and the Albany City Rocks.
