Nick Hendra Has Monster Game

Nick Hendra continues to show why he's one of the more exciting players in the New York area ...

After watching Nick Hendra play several times for Phil Diasparra's Westchester Hawks basketball program during the 2006 summer, it's been no surprise to anyone here at this website that he continues to progress in his individual game.

Hendra, a 6-foot-2 guard from Xavier High School in New York City, has had a terrific senior season. His progression certainly has accelerated over the past couple of years. And he has proven he can play against the best competition on the high school level.

Against St. John's Prep, Hendra hit 16-of-17 from the field and hit all of his three-pointers in four attempts. He finished the game with 40 points.

Hendra has done a nice job running the lead guard slot too when called upon. But his athletic ability also is an area the reporters from this website have been impressed with since Day One.

Nick will play his college basketball at American University. He should be an impact player for American as he continues to solidify his individual game.

Xavier is 10-2 overall and has won all nine games in its league.

Hendra is obviously a big reason why Xavier is having a great season.
