While Freeman does improve his overall game, the recruiting interest in his skills remains stable, according to St. Mary's head coach Rob Jones. "Byron has really been turning it on for us in league play," Jones said. "He's averaging 21.3 points a game in our league games."
If Freeman can continue to maintain such a terrific scoring pace, he's likely to land more division one interest in his skills. "Recently Hofstra and Navy have been added to his early list of schools," Jones said.
Jones had previously stated that Penn, Yale, Memphis, Holy Cross, Indiana, St. John's, and Army had expressed some early interest.
It is early for sure in Freeman's recruiting process. So the next nine months will be key in determining how high a level of interest will fill his recruiting list.
