And to be successful against any great team, you need talent and depth. Rice High School has both assets. Helping them along is underrated Chris Fouch, a 6-foot-1 guard from the 2008 class.
Fouch recorded 16 points against Niagara Falls High School, including four key three-pointers. He has a solid shot from the perimeter and is part of Rice's pressure defense.
Several schools have been watching Chris compete this season. This winter and spring are big for Fouch and will determine how serious the high division one interest will be. But the reviews on Fouch's game this season have been outstanding. He has proven himself as one of the better players in the area.
Seton Hall, St. John's, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Albany, and Marist are some schools Fouch has listed in the past. "I'm open," Fouch said after he helped his team defeat Niagara Falls.
Fouch is a key member of the Rice basketball program. He helps keep the other team from hounding Kemba Walker and Lamont Jones too much when his perimeter game is sharp. And Fouch can be an impact player in key situations for Rice. College coaches are watching.
