But Kentucky is just one school pursuing Kevin Jones, a 6-foot-6 forward, very hard. Norm Roberts of St. John's and his staff have been working hard too. Yesterday, Jones took in the St. John's victory over Syracuse University in a Big East battle at Madison Square Garden.
Sources tell us that Jones has an offer on the table from St. John's too. So the battle lines have been drawn in this national battle to land Jones' signature on a national letter of intent for the 2008 class.
Jones recently told Dave Telep: "Kentucky has been coming after me. They offered. UMass and Rutgers offered but I don't want to leave anybody out. Indiana has offered me. There's a bunch of schools that talked to my brother and he tells me when I can go up there on unofficials."
Memphis, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Syracuse, and Louisville were also mentioned in Dave's article.
