Upstate Guard Mending An Injury

Reporter Mike Sullivan had a chance to update us on the season of Brandon Triche ...

Brandon Triche, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound plus guard from Jamesville-Dewitt High School in upstate New York, is currently recovering from an injury he sustained this season, according to Albany City Rocks program director Jim Hart.

"Brandon tore an ACL," Hart said. "So he's out for a while."

Hart is certainly disappointed because Triche is a player he has in the past spoke very highly of when discussing Brandon's individual game. Triche averaged 23 points and eight rebounds per game last season.

Brandon is a 2009 prospect, a sophomore, so there is plenty of time for him to mend and rebound in proper fashion. "He's got a lot of upside to his game," Hart said.

Hart thinks Triche can grow another three inches would give him an added advantage when getting off his shot in traffic.

For now, though, it's recovery time for Brandon, according to Hart. "We won't have this this summer with the Rocks," Hart said. "It's important he gets healthy."

Triche has been a player Hart likes a lot because of his ability to shoot the long-range jumper. "He shoots the three very well," Hart said.
