WHAT MIKE SULLIVAN IS SAYING ABOUT DURAND SCOTT: As Scott fills in his frame, he will become one of the better players in the region by the time he is a senior.

If he is able to improve the consistency in his offensive game, he will be a high division one player. The coaches around the country are already expressing interest and are likely to watch him pretty intensely this spring and summer.

Scott has an added advantage in being in the Rice High School program. The competition for playing time is intense with a roster filled with high quality talent, especially in the backcourt area. This is good for a player like Scott who has a couple more seasons to progress. It will keep him sharp when they practice and prepared when gametime rolls around.

The area schools are already showing early interest -- St. John's, Seton Hall, and Rutgers. But Providence has also scouted Scott and our sources indicate the coaches have been impressed.
