A Look At The Game Of Holy Cross Forward

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on a player from Holy Cross High School ...

Every good high school basketball program needs players that can fill a role and do the dirty work around the basket. Several times on this website, including today, we highlighted the value of Andrew Gabriel to the Christ The King basketball program.

For the Holy Cross boy's basketball program, Ernest Freeman seems to fit neatly into that category too. Freeman, 6-foot-6 and weighing around 200 pounds, is from the city of Corona.

Ernest is a hard-working forward, who handles plenty of the inside work for the Knights and head coach Paul Gilvary.

Holy Cross has plenty of talent too on its roster -- Sylven Landesberg, Kayvon Roberts, Tim Beinert, Blaise Ffrench, Shameel Carty, etc. But every successful high school basketball program needs a player like Freeman, who is willing to grind away around the basket for rebounds and points.

In a recent game against Chaminade, Freeman impressed us here at the Scout.com New York website with his ability to score inside. He was able to 13 points that evening and showed he has plenty of value in his game.

Ernest has another full season under Gilvary, one of the area's top high school coaches. So he should continue to improve his game. Expect the low to mids to take a look at Freeman over the next six months.
