Byron Freeman, 6-foot-2 shooting guard from St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, New York, has some new schools added to his recruiting list according to Gaels head coach Rob Jones.

"High Point, Colgate and UAB are now checking him out," Jones said.

Freeman has had a stellar season for St. Mary's, a program that is considered one of the best in the area. The 2008 prospect is averaging 23 points a game in the Long Island Catholic League.

Army, Navy, Holy Cross, Hofstra, Penn and Yale have been previously mentioned as schools of interest by Jones. "He scored 27 points against St. John The Baptist last week," said Jones. The Gaels won this contest.

Jones said Freeman has good grades too. He indicated previously that Brown had expressed some initial interest in Freeman and his academic situation.
