Andrew Gabriel Proves He Is D-1 Worthy

Reporter Mike Sullivan has an update on big man Andrew Gabriel ...

The big fella delivered big time last night. Andrew Gabriel, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound inside forward for Christ The King High School in Middle Village, N.Y., registered 23 points in helping the Royals upend nationally ranked Rice High School of New York City.

Gabriel muscled his way inside the paint to score several key baskets in the second half as the game was close throughout the four quarters. But Gabriel has done this for the most part all season. So it was no surprise that over the last two playoffs game in the CHSAA of New York City that he has been a go to type of player.

A senior, Gabriel has had division one schools scouting his skills. And the reporters on this website agree that he is a division one player on the college level.

BRIAN TOWEY'S VIEW ON GABRIEL: Andrew is a player whose quiet, relentless productivity- his boardwork, post defense, and the little things he does- can be background noise on a team with dynamic offensive players like Walker.

Gabriel has previously discussed his level of interest in certain schools, including Boston University, the College of Charleston, Manhattan, Duquesne, and Coastal Carolina.
