Bishop Leads Impressive Team In Jordan Game

A look at the regional rosters for the Jordan All Star Game to be held at MSG ...

NEW YORK, NY (March 15, 2007) – Jordan, a division of Nike, Inc., announced today the rosters for the Jordan Brand Classic Regional Team which will be the preliminary game of the Jordan Brand All-American Classic, Presented by Foot Locker and Boost Mobile, at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, April 21st.

The game will feature the top prep players from the New York City metropolitan area in a City vs. Suburbs showdown with a portion of the proceeds to once again benefit The Children's Aid Society.

The Suburban team will feature Rashad Bishop (St. Benedict's Prep/Newark, NJ), Matthew Bryan-Amaning (South Kent Prep/South Kent, CT), TJ Carey (St. Dominic High School/Oyster Bay, NY), Corey Chandler (Eastside High School/Newark, NJ), Mike Coburn (Mount Vernon High School (Mount Vernon, NY), Rashon Dwight (Bloomfield Tech High School/Bloomfield, NJ), Pat Hazel (Blair Academy/Blairstown, NJ), Idris Hilliard (The Hun School/Princeton, NJ), Corey Raji (Westwood High School/Washington Twp., NJ), Chris Smith (St. Benedict's Prep/Newark, NJ) and Alex Wangmene (Blair Academy/Blairstown, NJ). The City Team will include Darion Benbow (St. Raymond's High School/Bronx, NY), Malik Boothe (Christ the King High School/Middle Village, NY), Mike Cavataio (St. Francis Prep/Fresh Meadows, NY), Gerald Colds (St. Raymond's High School/Bronx, NY), Jabari Edwards (St. Benedict's Prep/Newark, NJ), Andrew Gabriel (Christ the King High School/Middle Village, NY), Mike Glover (American Christian School/Aston, PA), Jamie Harris (Wing's Academy/Bronx, NY), Nathaniel Lester (Canarsie High School/Brooklyn, NY), Zamal Nixon (Boys & Girls High School/Brooklyn, NY) and Devon Peterson (Abraham Lincoln High School/Brooklyn, NY).

Sponsored by Jordan Brand, the event is also annually attended by some of sport and entertainment's biggest stars, who have included Michael Jordan, Spike Lee, LL Cool J, Warren Sapp, Terrell Owens, Floyd Mayweather, Kanye West, Ahmad Rashad, Al Harrington and Vince Carter. Atlanta-based rap sensation, T.I., performed at the 2006 All-American game.

Recent Jordan Brand All-Americans have included NBA stars Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Amare Stoudemire, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul and Andre Iguodala as well as current NCAA standouts Kevin Durant (Texas), Corey Brewer (Florida), Tyler Hansbrough (North Carolina), and Julian Wright (Kansas).
