Hofstra Picks Up JUCO Prospect

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on a forward that recently gave a commitment to Hofstra ...

The Hofstra basketball program continues to do an excellent job in recruiting prospects -- both on the high school and JUCO level. It wasn't long ago this website highlighted the strengths of Nathaniel Lester's individual game. Lester is a very talented and gifted guard from Canarsie High School in Brooklyn, New York.

In addition, Hofstra also landed Devon Peterson from the New York State Federation champs -- Lincoln High School of Brooklyn, New York.

In the past week, Hofstra also got a commitment from Darren Townes, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound power forward/center from Globe Institute of Technology in New York City.

Globe Tech head coach Ken Wilcox confirmed the commitment to Scout.com via a phone call.

Townes previously played at Manhattan Center and comes from New York City.
