Buffalo-Based Big Man Receives Big Praise

Reporter Mike Sullivan has the story on a player from the Buffalo area ...

Big men are hard to find for any AAU program. So Albany City Rocks program director Jim Hart is very thankful to have a good one at such a young age in Will Regan.

Regan, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound power forward/center from Nichols High School in Buffalo, New York, recently helped the Albany City Rocks capture the 15 and under title at the Boo Williams tournament held in the state of Virginia.

"Will did a great job inside and around the basket," Hart said. "He does a great job in clogging the middle and making it difficult for the opponent to score points inside the paint."

Regan is a just a freshman, a member of the 2010 class. So there is plenty of time and tournaments for Will to improve his individual game. "He'll get better," Hart said. "He works hard. He likes playing the game."

And Regan has some good genes too. "His sister starts for the Manhattan girls basketball team," said Hart.

Will has three more full seasons to make himself a better player. Hart is confident he will be a division one player. "He has the ability to be a solid college player," Hart stated. "It's up to him now. He just has to continue to work hard."
