Reporter Mike Sullivan has an updated profile on guard Scott Machado of St. Mary's High School ...

PROFILE: Scott Machado

HEIGHT: 6-foot-1

POSITION: Point Guard, Shooting Guard

HIGH SCHOOL: St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, New York (Long Island)HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH: Robert Jones

CLASS: 2008, A Junior

WHAT HIS HIGH SCHOOL COACH ROBERT JONES IS SAYING ABOUT SCOTT MACHADO'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: "He has a college ready body. He's unstoppable on the drive to the hoop and off the dribble."

SCHOOLS OF INTEREST IN HIS RECRUITING PROCESS: DePaul (called recently), Buffalo (called recently), UAB, Navy, Towson, Elon, Yale, Cornell, and Hofstra.

SUMMER VIEW FOR SCOTT MACHADO: Scott needs to have a solid spring and summer during AAU events. He plays for a high school team that plays a solid schedule so the competition level is high to judge Machado's talent against.

But the summer allows a player like Machado to test his skills against players from across the country. It's likely the mid to low majors will take an extensive look at his individual game this summer.

It's likely college coaches will watch Machado and evaluate him on how he handles a leadership position such as point guard. If Machado can show he can consistently make other players around him better with his lead guard skills, then it's likely he'll get some offers.
