Final Look: New Jersey Prospect Corey Raji

Reporter Mike Sullivan produces an update on the game of Corey Raji ...

Corey Raji, a 6-foot-6 forward from Westwood High School in New Jersey, has been a great player to watch over the past couple of seasons. Raji has developed his individual game to the level of a high major recruit.

In the past, Raji has also competed for Jimmy Salmon's nationally regarded Playaz basketball program on the AAU circuit. It is on this circuit that Raji was mainly watched by the reporters on this website.

Raji will be off to college soon, playing for the Boston College Eagles. Previously, Raji prepared for his senior year by competing with the Playaz Club of New Jersey senior AAU team in the Fall IS8 league. He does the same now in the Spring League.

Previously, Raji had some recruiting interest from Virginia, Miami, Seton Hall, and Nebraska. Raji's goal was to make himself a more consistent perimeter player so he can shake defenders more easily when he takes the ball to the basket.

Corey also played in the Michael Jordan regional All Star game which was held recently at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Raji scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds in 17 minutes of play.

"It was great to play in the Garden," Raji said. "And I hope I can continue to improve my game at Boston College."
