Peterson Big Factor In Juice's Playoff Win

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on Lincoln High School player Devon Peterson ...

It's becoming apparent that the staff of Hofstra University is quite skilled in recognizing proper recruits for its basketball program. So it was no surprise to watch the tremendous improvement over the past year in Devon Peterson.

Peterson has been a big factor for Dwayne Morton's basketball program over the past year. In fact, Peterson dropped in 23 points to help Lincoln defeat Rice in a big state playoff game.

"He just does the things you need to win a game," Morton previously stated to us in an interview.

Peterson also was a key player for the Juice in yesterday's quarterfinal game against Team Odom. Devon scored 13 points, most of them in the second half as the Juice opened up a big lead. Devon scored around the basket and from the perimter. His balanced offensive game has improved over the past year.

Peterson will join Canarsie guard Nathaniel Lester next season as a freshman at Hofstra University on Long Island.

It means that Hofstra is set again with some talented players from the New York City area.

The Juice will continue its play in two weekends when they compete in the IS8 Spring League semifinals. Peterson's skills will be again a key if the Juice are to claim the title.
