Fordham Has A Good One In Estwick

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on Alberto Estwick ...

Fordham University has a nice recruit in Alberto Estwick, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound junior shooting guard from St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, New Jersey. Estwick recently played with the Westchester Hawks at the Island Garden for the right to win a bid and play for the National AAU title in Orlando, Florida.

Estwick previously told reporter Brian Towey that he selected Fordham due to the campus, the ability to take business administration, and the encounters he had with various people connected to the Fordham school.

While watching Estwick compete at the Island Garden, Alberto was impressive in using his size as a guard to score around the rim. He showed the ability to shoot the perimeter shot as well. Alberto scored 13 points on a limited number of shots.

WESTCHESTER HAWKS HEAD COACH BOB RIZZO COMMENTS TO REPORTER BRIAN TOWEY ON ALBERTO ESTWICK'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: "He's a totally unknown player because of the guys ahead of him in the rotation.

There weren't enough minutes for him that he could have gotten somewhere else. For that reason, college coaches didn't know how good he was. You'd have to see him in AAU or see us in practice. Had he not committed to Fordham and waited, he probably would have gone higher than the Atlantic 10."
