Could OSNA Forward Be High D-1 Player?

Over the next couple of years, college coaches are likely to make the trek to the Long Island based school of Our Savior New American in Centereach, New York. The people that support this program have done an outstanding job of supplying its team with some quality talent.

A player to watch on the development side is Leek Leek, a 6-foot-5, 190-pound combo forward. Leek is a 2009 prospect, meaning he has two more full seasons at OSNA to polish his game.

According to Our Savior New American assistant coach Eric Jaklitsch, Leek played very well at the Rumble in the Bronx held at Fordham University in the Bronx a weekend ago. And add in the fact that Leek doesn't turn 16 until this November makes him an attractive player to watch as his skills progress.

DePaul and Pittsburgh have been very smart to keep involved with Leek early on in his recruiting process. Leek is a player we watched a bit at the Five Star event held at St. John's University last month. He runs the floor well, blocks shots, and plays around the rim effectively.

A lefty, Leek will get his chance to play some quality minutes with the New York Elite AAU program this summer. The Elite, coached by Chris Phillips and Eric Jaklitsch, have entered in several high profile events for July, the coaching evaluation period.

Leek is open in his recruiting process too, according to sources close to the OSNA program.
