Reporter Mike Sullivan has an update on Mike Culpo who was impressive at a team camp recently ...

Mike Culpo, a 6-foot-1 lead guard from St. Andrew's High School in Barrington, Rhode Island, is a player to watch this summer, according to Jim Hart. Culpo has in the past played AAU ball for the Albany City Rocks basketball program located in Albany, New York, according to program director Hart.

A rising senior and a member of the class of 2008, Culpo helped St Andrews to a second straight NEPSAC class B Championship.

Culpo has been a player impressive to us as well. He averaged averaged 15 points, five assists and two steals per contest last year.

"Mike was at the Columbia Elite camp," Hart said. "I had a chance to watch the teams play there and he was very impressive. He was one of the best players there."

Culpo has always displayed the ability to hit the big shot and also knock down the long range jumper. Rhode Island, Fordham, Boston University, Northeastern, Siena, Marist and Columbia were the schools recently mentioned by Hart being of interest.

Head coach Mike Hart runs the highly regarded basketball program at St. Andrew's. Culpo is in excellent hands regarding the teachings of the game, according to Hart.
