CBA Backcourt Player Praised By Hart

Reporter Mike Sullivan has the story on Malcolm Austin of CBA in Albany ...

Malcolm Austin, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound shooting guard/point guard from Christian Brothers Academy in Albany, New York, is a player to watch carefully this July evaluation period, according to Albany City Rocks program director Jim Hart.

"He already has some division one schools showing recruiting interest," Hart said. "The reason they are looking at him because he has a high basketball IQ."

Austin is expected to play for the Rocks during the summer, according to Hart. "He made the Rumble in the Bronx All tournament team," Hart stated. "He is athletic. He can score and slash to the basket. He just knows how to play."

Hart added: "He goes to a great school too in CBA. They do a great job there teaching the kids. So Malcolm is benefitting greatly."

Hart believes Austin can play division one college basketball down the road. "He has Marist, Wagner and Canisius showing recruiting interest," Hart said. "He does a lot of good things on the court. He is also a good defender."
