SOUTH ORANGE, NEW JERSEY -- Scott Machado scored 16 points and did a terrific job in helping direct a second half offensive, leading Team Takeover past Team New York, 61-40, in a pool game at the Joe Brown Memorial tournament.

Machado, a 6-foot-1 guard from St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, New York, helped Team Takeover forge a 21-21 tie at the half with nine of his 16 points.

Scott had plenty of help in the second half. Christian Morris, the 6-foot-9, 270-pound center from South Kent Prep in Connecticut, was held scoreless in the first half. However, Morris racked up 13 points in the final 15 minutes of play. Each half consisted of 15 minutes of play.

But it was the terrific all around play by Machado which helped first stablize Team Takeover in the first half. Team New York had done an effective job at switching defenses to lead for most of the first 15 minutes.

Devin Ebanks, listed on the Team Takeover roster, was not available for today's game. Quasim Pugh added 13 points for the winners.
