LI Guard Unsure Of HS Situation For Next Year

Reporter Mike Sullivan has story on St. Mary's guard Scott Machado ...

This past weekend St. Mary's lead guard Scott Machado was very impressive. Machado played with Team Takeover and did a terrific job in running the offense and scoring points.

The 6-foot-1 guard is a member of the 2008 recruiting class and has certainly evaluated his stock by his solid AAU play this month so far. "It's fun to play with this team," Machado said. "We have a lot of great players."

Machado seemed happy about his play so far in July. He will continue his role with his AAU team later in July too. "I am just working on getting stronger and trying to improve all parts of my game," he said.

Machado is likely to see his school list increase due to his effective play. The question for Scott is whether he returns to St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, New York for this season.

"My family just moved to North Carolina," Machado said. "So right now I don't know whether I am going back to St. Mary's for next season."

DePaul, Buffalo, UAB, Navy, Towson, Elon, Yale, Cornell, and Hofstra were on the list before this tournament. It's likely this list will see a few more schools involved.

"I'm open right now," Scott said. "I don't have a favorite either."
