FRANK MANTEST'S VIEW OF MALCOLM AUSTIN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: Malcolm is a team player. He has a solid mid-range game. He is also a good defender and a team player. He must get better with his handle. Malcolm is a slasher and might have to play some point in college.
MIKE SULLIVAN'S VIEW OF MALCOLM AUSTIN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: On a team that is run very efficiently by Xavier prospect Mark Lyons, Malcolm is a player that must pick his spots when to contribute offensively.
He moves his feet very well and gets up and down the court with speed. His confidence level needs to be elevated for him to be more of a factor offensively. Malcolm is effective cutting off the foul line and getting to the basket.
But he is a good defender that has a chance to play low to mid college basketball, depending upon the improvements he makes with his handle and how diversified his skill level becomes over the next year.
