New York Guard Heading To JUCO Level

Reporter Mike Sullivan has an update on Sal Patricio and his future ...

On July 31st, Sal Patricio will join many players from the New York area at Fordham University and compete in Nate Blue's All Star event. Patricio, who had been at Hofstra University, has transferred to Blinn Community College to straighten out his academic situation.

Patricio, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound combo guard from Woodside, New York, had made a name for himself a couple of years ago when he played at the Reebok ABCD camp in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Sal averaged almost eight points a game and two assists during that week against some of the best guards in the country. He made a commitment to Hofstra that week in early July.

But Patricio has a chance on an evaluation day in July to remind college coaches that he is out there when he plays in Blue's All Star game at Fordham.

The first game is at 4:30 PM. There will be three games that day and will feature many of the best players from the New York/New Jersey area. For Patricio, it's an opportunity to keep his name out there for recruiting purposes.
