Holy Cross Forward Worth Watching This Season

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on Tim Beinert of Holy Cross High School ...

Last season Tim Beinert was an important player for Holy Cross High School in Flushing, New York. Beinert, a skilled player, provided some offense from the forward position for Paul Gilvary's Knights.

But at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds last season, sometimes Tim's endurance would be affected. But after watching Beinert play in the early portion of July at the Super Hoop Jam Fest on his homecourt, Tim was impressive.

According to Gilvary, Beinert has lost several pounds and looks ready to have a big senior season for his basketball program. Tim will be needed to have a huge year. Holy Cross has a big time schedule that includes several major high school tournaments.

"Tim has the skills to help us," Gilvary said. "He has lost weight and that should help him be able to play more minutes. This will be his second year with me. He can play on the next level too."

Tim has lost weight and looks sharp this summer. And Beinert does have the ability to play division one college basketball. Gilvary thinks that Tim could be a Patriot League player too. "He does a lot of nice things on the court for us," Gilvary said. "He is a hard worker and as I said before he has the skills to help a team out.

Well, there won't be a problem for Tim to get exposure to college coaches. There is a great deal of division one talent on Gilvary's roster this season. And it's likely Holy Cross High School in Flushing will be busy with division one coaches stopping by to discuss Gilvary's players. Beinert should get a deserved look at his individual game.
