Jones, who used his long arms and shooting skills to almost perfection in the second half, helped the Hawks expand a narrow 26-19 lead after two quarters to 47-30 advantage heading into the final quarter of play.
Mookie Jones hit for a three-pointer to end the first half while Trinity Fields uncorked a successful three-point shot to end the third for the Hawks.
A key moment also came at the end of the third quarter when Westchester Hawks head coach Bob Rizzo elected to press and use his five small guards to do so. It worked. The Hawks forced three straight turnover and baskets to help expand the lead at the end of the third quarter.
"It's something we have used before," Rizzo said. "It was the right time to use it."
What it did was enable a bigger cushion for the Hawks to start the fourth quarter. Kevin and Mookie Jones were very effective in the second half too. Mookie finished the game with 16 points.
Fields was solid in his floor leadership and also contributed 21 points, showcasing his perimeter skills. Trinity had four three pointers in the game.
The Hawks next play a playoff game tonight against the South Carolina Ravens. We will have coverage of the game later tonight.
