High School Coaches Rave About Cardozo PG

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on Trinity Fields of Cardozo High School ...

The momentum continues for Cardozo lead guard Trinity Fields. The energetic and improving floor general first had a solid summer playing for Rob Rizzo's Westchester Hawks AAU program. Fields was very impressive at the Super Showcase in Florida in the last week of July held on the grounds of Disney World.

Then Fields competed for the New York Elite at a recent event held inside the Gauchos gym. "He was great," said one of the Elite coaches, Eric Jaklitsch. "He was all over the place. He's going to be a good college player too."

Cardozo head coach Ron Naclerio has heard the rave reviews regarding his lead guard's summer play. "It's good for his confidence," Naclerio said. "He knows he can play division one college basketball. I think the summer will help him with his play this winter."

Trinity, 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, is a rising senior that has made a case for him to be recruited by several college basketball programs. Naclerio has listed some schools but it's likely the list will grow over the next month due to Fields' great play.

Fields previously listed Providence, Virginia Tech, St. John's, Clemson, Rider, Monmouth, Siena, Marist, Hofstra, St. Francis of New York, Rhode Island, St. Joe's, and George Mason.

"We'll have to see who will be coming around school to talk to him," Naclerio said. "He's had a good enough summer to be considered one of the best guards in the New York area."
