Talented Prospect Takes Unofficial Visit

Reporter Mike Sullivan has story on Tyrell Lynch from upstate New York ...

Tyrell Lynch, a talented 6-foot-7 prospect from upstate New York, recently took an unofficial visit to Southern Mississippi, according to GC Ballers head coach Jeff Bishop.

Lynch, a player who has the ability to score from anywhere on the court, is awaiting word from the NCAA Clearinghouse on his eligibility. "It isn't an issue with Tyrell," Bishop said. "It's an issue with Lauringburg, the school he attended. The NCAA Clearinghouse is waiting for information from the school."

Tyrell has qualified academically, according to Bishop. Now the Clearinghouse awaits the documents from Lauringburg. "The kid is in limbo now because of this," Bishop said. "I have been assured that the worst case situation would be he would be eligible to play for some school come January."

In the meantime, Lynch was released from his school of commitment -- Auburn. "Tyrell could open up his recruiting perhaps," Bishop said.

For now, Lynch awaits the go ahead from the NCAA Clearinghous.
