Machado, who did a fine job running the St. Mary's offense this past season, impressed us during the July evaluation period. He performed well at Seton Hall University for the Joe Brown Memorial tournament.
"In Las Vegas I played with the Stamford Express," Machado said. "I had a good time and we played well. We got to the Sweet 16 before losing to Team Texas."
Machado rang up 20 points and handed out 13 assists in the loss. But his skills are being recognized by some low to mid division one programs. Machado can score from most spots on the floor. "I have heard from Quinnipiac, Norfolk State, Central Connecticut, Iona...schools like that," Machado said.
Scott hopes playing for a St. Benedict's or even an Our Savior New American (Centereach, New York) would be a great opportunity for him. Machado said he is considering the Pioneers program based on Long Island.
"I hope to know soon since school is going to start soon," he said.
