Long Island Guard Worth Watching This Season

Reporter Mike Sullivan has story on Long Island guard Robby Ptacek ...

While the New York Elite was dismantling KYDA yesterday morning at IS8 in a Fall League game, a familiar face was in the backcourt for Eric Jaklitsch and Chris Phillips' team -- Robby Ptacek.

Robby, 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, had played some IS8 ball previously with the Juice All Stars. He was also seen on the AAU circuit with Tiny Morton's program too.

The combo guard showed over the past few months that his skill level is sufficient to keep an eye on over the next year as his individual game continues to improve.

Yesterday morning, Robby dropped in 16 points, many of these baskets in nifty drives to the basket. He also drained a three-pointer showing he has the capability of hitting the long range jumper.

According to Robby's dad, Bill, his son is a member of the National Honor Society with a 92 average. The impressive part about Ptacek is the big improvement in his confidence and game over the past year.

Siena, Dartmouth, and Old Dominion have been mentioned by Robby's family as showing interest. If Ptacek continues to improve his individual game, it's likely more schools will start taking a more serious look at offering a scholarship.
