Former LI Guard Makes The Move To NJ

Reporter Mike Sullivan has the story on former Long Island guard Scott Machado ...

Scott Machado, a solid point guard who helped St. Mary's of Manhasset, New York last season with much success, will be playing for St. Benedict's of New Jersey this season.

Machado's family had moved to North Carolina and Scott had considered three options -- St. Benedict's, a school in the North Carolina area and Our Savior New American in Centereach, New York.

Machado had a solid July evaluation period. He is being looked at by several division one programs after he especially played well at Seton Hall University for the Joe Brown Memorial tournament as well as in Las Vegas with the Stamford Express.

Machado scored 20 points and handed out 13 assists in the Express' final playoff game, a contest against Team Texas.

Quinnipiac, Norfolk State, Siena, Marist, Central Connecticut, and Iona were schools Machado previously mentioned.
