Kevin Jones Praises Roberts and Quartlebaum

Reporter Mike Sullivan has story on outstanding prospect Kevin Jones ...

Kevin Jones, a 6-foot-7 forward from Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, New York, was outstanding today at IS8 but his team fell to Jimmy Salmon's Playaz Sophomores team, 94-83.

Jones scored 30 points. His first 16 points came from the perimeter too, showing that Jones is quickly improving his outside game. Kevin finished the game with four three-pointers.

Kevin had St. John's in for an in home visit and also has had Ohio State, Massachusetts, and West Virginia. "So far all the coaches that have come in have been great," Kevin said. "I really like coach Roberts (Norm, head coach St. John's) and Coach Q (assistant coach at St. John's Fred Quartlebaum)." Jones said he has felt very comfortable with all the in home visits. He spoke more about is St. John's in home. "They work very hard and the players work hard and get better," Jones said after his game at IS8 this morning. It's going to be a rough decision on the official visits."

Kevin could utilize unofficial visits for the local teams that are left in his race (St. John's, Rutgers, and Seton Hall) and use his five official visits for schools far away. It's something Kevin has been discussing with his brother Gerard.

"Once the in home visits are done then I can think about that," said Jones. "Right now there are more to take."
