Paterson Sophomore Impressive At IS8

Reporter Frank Mantesta has a story on Trevor Clemmings from New Jersey ...

Trevor Clemmings, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound inside wide body forward from Paterson Catholic High School in Paterson, New Jersey, recently competed at IS8 for Jimmy Salmon's Playaz Basketball Club AAU program.

Clemmings, a hard-working gritty player, showed the ability to score near the rim. He is a sophomore this season, a member of the 2010 class.

According to Trevor, he has already had some recruiting interest. Among the schools he mentioned -- Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Pittsburgh. Below is some thoughts on his individual game:

STRENGTHS: Physicality, strong body. Trevor can finish in traffic with dunks.

AREAS TO IMPROVE: Needs more experience, he is a little raw. Will need to develop better post moves.

EVALUATION: Trevor is a sophomore with a man's body. At IS8 versus Kevin Jones and his teammates from Mount Vernon, Trevor was able to finish with emphatic dunks.

For now, Trevor's game offensively is brute force. He needs to work in simple post moves to enhance game. Was very impressive at IS8 this last weekend.
