Canarsie Guard Has Some D-1 Interest

A look at the individual game of Brian Cummings of Canarsie High School ...

Brian Cummings, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound combo guard from Canarsie High School in Brooklyn, New York, is a senior prospect who is playing in the Fall IS8 Leauge for Game Over.

Cummings played last weekend and impressed us with his guard skills. Brian told us that Hofstra, Princeton, Long Island University, and Holy Cross are among the schools he has heard from in his recruiting process.

Below are some thoughts about his individual game, his strengths and where he needs to improve his game:

STRENGTHS: Brian is an outstanding shooter. He can get his shot off using his handle. He is an excellent ball handler.

AREA TO IMPROVE: Brian needs to think more like a lead guard. The point guard position is place for backcourt players to not only shoot but distribute.

EVALUATION: Brian is a lights out shooter from anywhere. He gets his shot off very easily in all sorts of ways. His quickness and ball handling skills enable him to score at will. He is also a very confident player.
