Area College Lands High Quality JUCO Player

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on a player giving a verbal commitment ...

St. Francis head coach Brian Nash and his able assistants have again struck paydirt in the 2008 recruiting campaign. The highly regarded head coach of the Brooklyn based college landed a 2008 prospect today.

According to sources, Nash and his rising program landed quality power forward Steve White, 6-foot-7 and 205 pounds.

White is a sophomore this season and will compete for Cochise Junior College in the state of Arizona. He previously played at Olney Junior College as a freshmen where he averaged an impressive 15 points and seven rebounds per game.

White previously played high school ball at South Division High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He will have two years to play for Nash and St. Francis College. He is considered skilled enough to face the basket too and drop down some jumpers.

It's likely that White will see significant playing time next season and will have a great shot to land a starting role on the frontline for Nash and St. Francis.
