Lovett: Gauchos Forward Can Play In Big East

Reporter Mike Sullivan has story on Devin Hill and his decision ...

Basketball coach Billy Lovett has had a great deal of experience coaching talented 2008 prospect Devin Hill. Lovett has spent time coaching at St. Luke's in Connecticut as well as with the young Gauchos AAU team helping Hill develop his game.

So it's no surprise to Lovett that Hill will shoot for the highest level of division one basketball -- an opportunity to play college hoops in the Big East Conference. As reported by several websites on the Scout.com network, Hill made a verbal commitment to DePaul.

"Devin is a very skilled 6-foot-9 kid who will be the ideal face up four man (power forward) in the Big East," Lovett said. "In time because of his ballhandling skills I believe he will be able to eventually move to the wing."

Hill had a solid summer too. He showed the ability to score from several spots on the floor, giving him a chance down the road to present some mismatch problems for smaller defenders in the Big East.

"He possesses a great work ethic and because of this he will only get better," Lovett said.

Lovett added: "I'm very excited for the kid because he has worked very hard the last two years to get to this point. A lot of credit is owed to Emmanuel Richardson who did a great job with him this summer."

Conclusion: Hill has a chance to be a big time impact player for the DePaul basketball program.
