Truck Impressive At IS8 For St. Raymond's

Darryl Bryant will be needed to produce points this season for St. Raymond's ...

It's obvious that Darryl Bryant a 6-foot-1, 185-pound guard, will be an important player for St. Raymond's High School in the Bronx, N.Y. this upcoming season. Bryant, who had a solid spring and summer and made a verbal commitment to West Virginia of the Big East Conference, is a backcourt prospect who can produce points from anywhere on the court.

Bryant played this past weekend at IS8 in the Fall League. He generated 26 points in the 82-65 loss to the New York Panthers, a squad that had national help from three terrific players. Bryant did his best to keep St. Raymond's in the game. Twice in the fourth quarter St. Raymond's cut the huge deficit down to eight points.

The 2008 prospect showcased is ability to take the ball to the basket against the bigger bodies inside the paint. He also buried a couple of jumpers to keep his defender honest, including one three-pointer.

Bryant went up against the likes of Melquan Bolding (headed to Louisville) and Josh Watkins. So the caliber of competition was intense for Bryant and the St. Raymond's squad.

But Bryant proved he can score and score plenty of points. St. Raymond's will need that type of production to have a repeat of the great run the Ravens had during last year's CHSAA playoffs.
