OSNA Guard Among Best In The Area

Reporter Mike Sullivan has player profile update on OSNA guard ...

PLAYER PROFILE UPDATE: Gerardo Suero

HEIGHT: 6-foot-3 1/2

WEIGHT: 186 Pounds

CLASS: 2008

POSITION: Shooting Guard

HIGH SCHOOL: Our Savior New American in Centereach, New York

HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH: Rev. Ron Stelzer

HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT COACHES: Bob Bass and Eric Jaklitsch

AAU BASKETBALL TEAM: New York Elite

AAU BASKETBALL COACHES: Chris Phillips and Eric Jaklitsch

GERARDO SUERO'S STRENGTHS IN HIS INDIVIDUAL GAME: Gerardo is among the best players in the New York City area due to his ability to score from most places on the court. Players like Suero are rare -- the ability to be productive in the paint area using floaters and short jumpers.

Suero has the skill level to be an impact player at a division one college basketball program. Due to Gerardo not being on the AAU circuit during the summer, college coaches missed out on a terrific talent in the backcourt.

He is a pure scoring guard who is improving his skills each week and becoming more familiar with the style of play here in the United States.

A native of the Dominican Republic, Suero is open in his recruiting process. But he has had previous interest from St. John's, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse. Expect this list to grow as more college programs become aware of this highly skilled guard's abilities.
