OSNA Guard Already Has D-1 Interest

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on a 2009 prospect ...

Rayner Moquete, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound point guard from Our Savior New American in Centereach, New York, is a player to watch this season here on Long Island.

Moquete, who hails from the Dominican Republic, is a current junior, a member of the 2009 class. He is averaging 14 points and six assists so far this season for the Pioneers, according to assistant coach of OSNA Eric Jaklitsch.

"So far he looks solid for us," Jaklitsch said. "He is also an excellent student so we are happy to have him here."

According to Jaklitsch, Moquete has a 3.95 GPA. "Holy Cross has called about him and so has Manhattan," said Jaklitsch.

Raynor is a key player for Our Savior New American this season. They have some talented forwards but need some leadership in the backcourt to be successful.
