Worth Watching: Robby Ptacek

Reporter Mike Sullivan likes the individual game of Robby Ptacek ...

Every season the reporters on this website end up loving the game of several low to mid major players for different reasons. And it was no surprise to many that the reporters on this website always spoke highly of Robby Ptacek, 6-foot-3 and 190-pound guard from Blue Point High School in Bayport, New York (on Long Island).

Robby recently signed a letter of intent with Central Connecticut State, a solid and terrific low to mid major basketball program. This is a tremendous fit for both Robby and the basketball program at Central Connecticut State.

Ptacek earned his way to a scholarship by playing at many AAU events and competing hard at several IS8 events. In other words, he decided to compete at a high level and find out how good he was. As the year rolled over in 2006-2007, it was evident that Robby had the skill level to be a division one basketball player.

Robby played for the Juice All Stars as well as the New York Elite AAU programs. These are two of the best AAU programs in the New York City area so when Ptacek was on the court, he competed against some of the best talent from across the country.

He is a hard worker too. Ptacek fears no one when taking his dribble inside the paint. And he has a soft shot that will keep his defenders honest.

At Central Connecticut State, Ptacek should help this program and eventually be an impact player. A great fit for sure.

And it's not surprising he had some solid division one interest in his skills.
