2010 Prospect Worth Watching This Season

Reporter Mike Sullivan has an update on a forward from upstate New York ...

Albany City Rocks program director Jim Hart has been excited about his young players over the past couple of years. He has mentioned several of them to us and we have watched them too.

A guard that has impressed Hart has been Shavar Fields, a sophomore guard who turns 16 years old next year. Fields has already had chances to play against older players and has competed well.

"There are a lot of young players in our area," Hart said. "Shavar is one of the better ones around."

Fields, 6-foot-7 and 200 pounds, competes for Albany Academy in Albany, New York while also playing for Hart's Albany City Rocks AAU program during the spring and summer tournaments. He sees playing time at both forward positions.

STRENGTHS: Possesses a nice touch and can score around the basket.

Hart said his recruiting is open too. And there's a possibility Fields will continue to grow.
