Cardozo Guard Makes A Commitment

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on Trinity Fields and his decision ...

Trinity Fields, a 6-foot-1 1/2 lead guard from Cardozo High School in Bayside, New York, made a verbal commitment to Iona College, according to his head coach, Ron Naclerio. The Daily News reported the decision early this morning and stated Fields had taken trips to South Carolina and Providence.

The 180-pound 2008 prospect played over the summer for such AAU programs at New Heights and the Westchester Hawks. Fields had a solid summer in helping Rob Rizzo and Tom Jenning's Hawks' AAU program go deep in some of the most competitive tournaments.

He had some college interest at one time during his recruiting process from such schools like Boston University, George Mason, Rhode Island, Hofstra, Stony Brook, St. Bonaventure, and Houston

Below are previous scouting reports published on this website. They include opinions from Mike Sullivan, Brian Towey, and Frank Mantesta:

STRENGTHS: Trinity has a good basketball IQ. He is a solid floor general who gets his teammates involved in the offense. He understands he needs to get the rock to his skilled players.

EVALUATION: Trinity has the ability to challenge a defense inside the paint with his dribble. When he is consistently moving the ball in the air with his passing, he is a complete guard.
