Fordham Recruit Impressive At OSNA Event

Reporter Mike Sullivan gives his thoughts on a Fordham recruit ...

The Fordham coaching staff has to be happy about the progress of Khiry Gordon, a 6-foot-7 forward from Solebury Prep in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Gordon plays for head coach Cleve Christie. "He's really picked it up for us lately," he said. "He's working hard and he's been very productive for us lately."

Gordon played with Solebury Prep in the recent Our Savior New American Invitational held in Centereach, New York. Khiry recorded 18 points and was named co-MVP of the consolation game this past weekend.

Gordon hails from Philadelphia. He does a nice job moving up and down the court. He is athletic enough around the basket to create problems for defenders and versatile enough to be active on both ends of the court.

Previously, Christie told reporter Brian Towey: "He plays the four for me. He handles the ball as good as most guards. He's very athletic, he runs the floor, and he jumps real well. I think under the tutelage of Coach Whittenburg he may develop into a big, big time player." Fordham is getting a solid recruit in Gordon. Solebury plays a very competitive schedule so Khiry is achieving success against high quality competition, giving him more confidence as the season progresses.
