Romain Is Solid Prospect For A D-1 School

Reporter Frank Mantesta has a recruiting update on Brandon Romain ...

Brandon Romain, the smooth guard/forward from Boys & Girls High School in Brooklyn, New York, is enjoying the season and the attention. But first on his mind is getting back to Madison Square Garden and winning the PSAL championship.

Brandon's game has gotten stronger each time we have seen him since the summer. He is a legitimate combo guard. He's smart enough to play the point guard position and strong enough of a scorer to play the shooting guard spot.

Romain is the type of player who can get to the basket and finish. He has good body control and a smooth jumper. Brandon also finishes strong on the break. Coach Ruth Lovelace says he is a good defender, very athletic, and is long armed which helps on the defensive side.

There is a long list of schools that have expressed interest whether it is mild or serious. The list includes Alabama, Arizona State, Penn State, Buffalo, Maryland, Quinnipiac, and St Francis.

Brandon will be visiting Rhode Island soon. UNLV is a favorite of his and they have shown interest as well. St. Bonaventure, and Massachusetts are also schools on top of his list.
