CTK Guard Is Valuable Part Of Team's Success

A player profile update on Royals guard Sean Johnson ...

Christ The King head coach Bob Oliva has a very talented basketball program. However, one guard who he loves but doesn't get the publicity some of his other players receives is as valuable to the team as any.

Below is a player profile update on Sean Johnson, who recently helped the Royals into the CHSAA "AA" title game tomorrow afternoon at Fordham University.

HEIGHT: 6-foot-2

WEIGHT: 170 Pounds

HIGH SCHOOL: Christ The King High School in Middle Village, New York

HEAD COACH: Bob Oliva

AAU TEAM: Team Odom

AAU HEAD COACH: Artie Cox

POSITION: Shooting guard

CLASS: 2009, a current junior

COLLEGE INTERESTS: St. John's, Seton Hall, Manhattan, St. Francis, Fordham, Stony Brook

STRENGTHS IN SEAN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: Sean can score from any point on the floor. He possesses a nice perimeter touch and has a good basketball IQ. He produced 14 points against Bishop Loughlin in the semifinal game at St. John's University last Wednesday night. He dropped down three three-pointers to help the Royals set an early tone to the game.

AREA OF IMPROVEMENT: Needs to guard necessary skills like handling the rock. Once he accomplishes this task, it will be easier for him to create his own shot.
