Drexel Recruit Prepares For Next Challenge

Reporter Mike Sullivan has the story on Rice guard Chris Fouch ...

Yes, it was a disappointing end to the playoff season for Rice guard Chris Fouch, whose team lost a hard fought game to Holy Cross High School in the CHSAA "AA" semis held at St. John's University three nights ago.

But Fouch is a solid prospect and has already chose Bruiser Flint's Drexel program as his college destination. Chris does a lot of positive things on the court. Below is our evaluation after watching him play several times over the past few months.

HEIGHT: 6-foot-2

WEIGHT: 170 Pounds

HIGH SCHOOL: Rice High School in New York, New York

HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH: Maurice Hicks

AAU PROGRAM: New York City Gauchos

POSITIONS: Shooting Guard/Point Guard

CLASS: 2008, A Current Senior

COLLEGE CHOICE: Drexel

PREVIOUS COLLEGE INTERESTS: Iona, Fairfield, Butler, George Washington, George Mason, Drexel

PREVIOUS COLLEGE OFFERS: Iona, Drexel, George Mason, Fairfield, and Butler

STRENGTHS IN CHRIS FOUCH'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: Chris has a nice balance to his offensive game. He has always shown the willingness to take the open jumper. The native of the Bronx scored 10 points in the semis against Holy Cross. Remember, Fouch is just one of several players on the Rice team that has the ability to score so the number of touches he receives is limited.

AREA TO IMPROVE IN INDIVIDUAL GAME: Decision making when he has the basketball. Like any player who needs to polish up his combo guard skills, Fouch will become smarter in the decision-making areas as he gains more experience.
