An update on the progress of Sherrod Wright from Mount Vernon ...

Sherrod Wright, a 6-foot-4 wing player from Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, New York, has a solid year for head coach Bob Cimmino. Wright is following a long list of players who have headed off to high division one programs. This season, Kevin Jones, a Parade All American, signed with West Virginia.

Sherrod is the next big one.

Sherrod is an explosive player getting to the rim, who is a great leaper and a strong physical player. He is tough to guard going to the basket. He has a great work ethic and is improved his mid range game.

Many of the big time programs are interested. Georgia Tech, Xavier, and Pittsburgh all have made offers and are leading the pack right now, according to sources close to Wright.

A very interesting summer and senior season awaits Sherrod. With the experience of Coach Cimmino, Sherrod will excel at the next level.
