But it was the way Chris scored that was impressive. We have seen these kinds of shooting displays before from Chris. Coach Maurice Hicks of Rice High School told me after a win over Holy Cross during the high school season: "When Chris gets hot you just let him shoot and good things happen."
He was hot this night. Chris hit threes from every spot. The second quarter saw him drain five in a row from the left wing about four feet behind the line.
Chris has unlimited range and good elevation on his jump shot. What makes him a special player is his ability to get his own shot off.
Fouch also comes off of screens squared up and ready to shoot the ball all in one motion. Stephen Curry comes off of screens as well and Chris was doing it pretty close to that way this past Sunday.
Coach Bruiser Flint of Drexel told Chris to be ready to work hard from day one. This is a nice way to showcase to Flint and others the amount of talent he has.
Chris has never shied away from hard work and Coach Flint feels he has a player capable of big things in the tough CAA conference. He would like to see him improve on his decision making. He sees him as a combo guard.
Last Sunday, he was as good a guard as there is in his class.
