Lincoln Big Man Makes A Decision

Reporter Frank Mantesta has the story on a commitment ...

Justin Greene, the 6-foot-7, 225-pound big man from Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, N.Y., has verbally committed to Kent State. He will go make the trip there in the two weeks and make it official.

Kent State had a coaching change but never waivered on the fact that they wanted Justin. Coach Ford and his staff contacted Justin quickly when they took over to let him know he was an important piece to their program. Coach Ford had been an assistant at Kent State and now is in charge.

Justin is a big strong body who can rebound but also runs the floor very well. He is very good at scoring around the rim and his big body enables him to get himself in a good post position making him very hard to stop.

His father Chris told us that they are all very happy with Justin's decision.

"The MAC is a great league and we are very comfortable with knowing Justin is with a staff that is committed on and off the court on seeing their student athletes succeeding," Chris said.

His father also stated: "That Justin was 270 pounds when he was in the eighth grade and with hard work and determination he is at this point today."

Justin only started playing ball in the ninth grade. Mr Greene also added how much of an influence coach Tiny Morton was to Justin and he is very grateful to everyone at Lincoln High School.
