New York Big Man Takes Campus Trip

Reporter Brian Towey has the story on Jordan Henriquez ...

Jordan Henriquez, a 6-foot-10, 190-pound center from Port Chester (N.Y.) High School visited Kansas State this weekend, according to Maurice Hicks, the director of the New York Gauchos AAU program.

Henriquez, a member of the class of 2008, may need a year of prep school to meet the NCAA's academic requirements.

The ultra-long lefty picked up interest from schools on a variety of levels during his senior season at Port Chester for coach Derek Vincent. He visited St. John's unofficially this spring.

A native of Baldwin, on Long Island, Henriquez attended Rice High School in New York City for his freshman and sophomore years before transferring to Port Chester, in Westchester County.

Henriquez plays with the Gauchos on the AAU circuit.
